The Architect of the Capitol’s (AOC) Information Technology Division (ITD) provides a wide range of IT-related services to the AOC. ITD provides operation and maintenance of the AOC IT infrastructure and seeks a dynamic leader with the ability to manage programs and activities involving strategic goals, policy development, budgeting, information architecture planning, and IT security.

With oversight of the daily maintenance, repairs and security of the agency’s IT infrastructure, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides leadership, management and supervision of client services to ensure employees and staff of the AOC have the latest software, equipment, and technological capabilities to serve in their roles effectively and efficiently.
Specific Duties Include:
- Organizes the day-to-day work in the division by setting priorities, determining resource requirements, short and long-term goals and overseeing the development of strategies to achieve them. In addition, the CIO will monitor progress and evaluate outcomes, as well as, develop, implement and maintain administrative systems to support IT/CIO operations, such as obligation and purchase requisition tracking.
- Provides strategic direction to the Deputy CIO, Chief Enterprise Architect, Chief Information Security Officer, ITD Branch Chiefs and CIO central staff in the preparation of the division’s budget.
- Applies IT solutions to business operations throughout AOC. Consults with AOC managers on enterprise resource planning to develop new business rules with end users, to make the best use of IT investments. Will apply business process re-engineering methods, metrics, tools and techniques.
- Applying strategic future planning, the CIO develops a Five-Year Operations Plan. Establishes timeframes and empirical measures of success.
- Ensures that IT projects are on time and on budget as well as in line with agency priorities.
