Duties
- The Deputy Director of the Infrastructure and Operations Service reports to the Director of Infrastructure and Operations, who provides policy and direction. Work is reviewed in terms of program effectiveness, responsiveness, and accomplishments. The Deputy Director executes tactically in alignment with program direction, directs subordinate staff members and makes commitments on his or her own authority.
- In this position, you will provide technical oversight of all operational IT environments including the Enterprise Operations Center, all FAA non NAS IT networks, IT infrastructure, and IT data centers including cloud environments; protect them from harm through established change and configuration management processes; and re-establish operations when a detrimental event or outage occurs. You will monitor, manage and maintain the FAAs LAN, network operations, network hardware, Trusted Internet Connections and telecommunication services.
- You will regularly provide expert level advice, guidance and support for client/device engineering services, including desktop, laptop and mobility hardware and software configuration and support. You will be responsible for design, implementation and management of the FAA enterprise-wide infrastructure environment, including directory and network services. You will provide server management, system administration, storage and backup, hosting services, disaster recovery service, and backup and archival service.
