“The Office of Technology seeks a Director that supports all aspects of the Commission’s mission from daily operation and business functions to long-term Commission projects.”
Responsibilities:
- Supervising and mentoring staff involved in the development of Commission software programs, databases, infra-structure, and information technology maintenance functions.
- Managing and maintaining comprehensive and effective cyber security and risk management programs to protect sensitive information and technology assets.
- Developing and administering technology policies and guidance that comply with applicable federal government statutory and policy requirements (e.g., cyber security, emergency preparedness and recovery, privacy, records management, and asset management).
- Making recommendations to the staff director on technology initiatives, emergent technologies, process improvements, and short and long-range planning.
- Collaborating with office directors and other stakeholders to provide a high level of customer service in support of various Commission projects.
- Conducting cost-benefit analyses and developing budget plans for various technology projects, hardware, software, and contractor recommendations.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation on all aspects of hardware, software, database, and security issues and procedures.
- Giving presentations and technical briefings on technology-related topics.
- Coordinating with government agencies and commercial vendors to further the Commission’s technology interests and requirements.
